Part 1 in a series of 3 workshops, we get hands-on to turn raw plant material into pulp and sheets of paper. We will:
· discuss harvesting, drying, and processing plants
· go over equipment needed for western style paper making
· dig into the vats to pull sheets of paper from 2 different plants
Participants will take home reference handouts, a stack of paper for personal use and samples to build a reference library for papermaking with plants.
Plants for each Session*:
Session 1: daylily and kudzu
Session 2: okra and garlic
Session 3: hemp and poplar bark
Come for one or sign up for all three and receive a discount. Class size limited to 6 people per session.

$85 individually or $225 for all three

working with plants to create art.
ACCESSIBILITY: The Patchwork Underground is within 20 minutes of downtown Asheville. The outdoor workshop spaces are accessed by walking over a textured field, or accessible by vehicle if needed. Indoor restroom facilities are accessible by stairs.
